I own a three year old Oracle Delphi II. As far as I know, the present model of the Delphi is the IV. Can someone tell me the differences between the Delphi II, III and IV and if the upgrades are retrofitable? Any commments on improvements for the Oracle Delphy II will be wellcome. i have a delphi III. it had some noted improvements over the II. soundstage
and suspension. Admittedly i am not tooooo familiar with the II, but I
know that the III is the model that put oracle on the map again.
I have seen the IV and listened to it and i prefer the III.
-the platter is HARD plastic not the sticky rubber mat that
oracle used to claim was imperitive
-the screw-down clamp _much_ heavier. i really do not knwo why this is
because the screw is the clamping device, not the weight. i
guess the center of mass is , ummmmm centered.
-the finish is no longer the brushed aluminum but some kinda
gold/brass colour. looks very cheap in my eye.
-the sound seemed very cold. detail was there, and soundstage
was okay,,, but i just did not feel good about it. (spectral
amps, MIT cables, logan speakers and duntech speakers.
