In my 8ft x 13ft room, they are the minimum 8in from the side walls (as stated in the manual) and 3 feet from the rear wall. For a room this small the frequency response is surprisingly uncolored. There is SONEX placed at the locations of the first reflections on the side walls for both speakers' tweeters. The room is carpeted with hanging tile ceiling, but all four walls (minus the 4 spots of sonex) are fairly lively. The speakers are parallel with zero toe-in. (Magnepans drove me to fits of near reptilian rage with their toe-in adjustment anomalies.)
