Hi, I heard an interesting article on the Canadian Broadcasting Service's "Sunday Morning" program today. The principle concern was how Canadian corporations could form pre-compeditive collaborations to develop new technologies that were beyond the means of a single firm. The example given was the "smart loudspeaker" development effort involving seven companies at the National Research Council in Ottowa. This was compared with similar efforts in Britain and Denmark. (Japan and the US were not mentioned.) Part of the article took place in one of the NRC's anechoic chambers, where two loudspeakers, perhaps one with "smart" enhancements, and one without, though no mention was made of this, were A/Bed. There was an audible difference through the table radio, despite the reporter's caution that it might not be sensible, for the little that that is worth. I wonder whether this will be the next "CD"? With its own contraversies? Is there more information available on "smart loudspeakers"? I would appreciate any references. Mark
