[rec.audio.high-end] front end revision

I know that this will be heresy to many of you, but I am considering abandoning
the vinyl-playing capability of my system. At the moment I have a Michel
Gyrodec with a Zeta arm and (slightly aging) ADC MC1.5 cartridge playing into a
Musical Fidelity (British Fidelity?) MVX pre-amplifier and the arrangement of
A372s and B&W 80s1 described elsewhere.

I would like to be rid of the turntable (and by implication the pre-amplifier)
and just run the CD player (Sony ES555 + Musical Fidelity Digilog) into some
kind of switch-box and attenuator that is entirely passive. An upgrade of the
Digilog (an outboard converter) is also on the cards.

Anybody have any ideas?

PS Anybody like to make an offer for the above equipment? The MVX is
essentially new (~2 years old), the turntable is older (~6 years) but is still
in fine condition. Also a few hundred vinyl LPs, classical bias, almost all in
A1 condition.
