1. In the UK toward the end of the 78rpm period some records were issued at 78rpm pressed in vinyl, and with grooves that could be played with either LP or standard groove (78) styli. I have "Twilight Time" on one. 2. Yes, I have heard imaging from beyond the walls. It generally has to do with phase. I also heard a Carver Sonic Hologram demo disk that put trumpets quite firmly in the middle of record stacks, where no physical object (other than records) could really be. 3. I haven't heard any of Crown's recent gear, but their older stuff is not so hot. In fact some of it is downright awful (imho, of course). It does take a licking and keep on kicking, though.
