Hello, I've posted here before stating that I was in the market for an amplifier in hopes of getting some good suggestions. That being done, I went out and listened to a few of the brands, namely Aragon, Adcom, PS Audio, and Rotel. I'm writing here to hear some descriptive and less general opinions specifically comparing the PS Audio with the Aragon. From listening, I've narrowed my choices down to the PS Audio, the Aragon, or possibly some comparable amp. My opinions of the amps to which I listened: ROTEL --not sure what model but it didn't matter. Listened on the Centaurs and the bass was a nasty garbel to which I was unwilling to listen. Adcom GFA 555 (and 555 II) -- Nice dynamics overall yet the sound was quite compressed with a very gritty high end. Not a sound I could handle over time but could be a good stepping stone. Aragon 2004 II -- Very commanding sound. Detailed with alot of dynamics. This is the kind of sound I like. I think it's worth about twice the price of the Adcom. PS Audio 100 Delta -- Nice open sound. I A/B'ed it with the Adcom, it was quite obviously more open and musical. A sound you could live with. I think the basss could maybe be a little tighter and the sound a little more commanding, but still much better than the Adcom (either one). So my question is: How does the PS Audio compare to the Aragon? I can't A/B it and I can't even listen to them on comparable equipment. Do you people have some experience? Further, what about such amps as the new 75 W stereo Forte? Thanks, Steve
