Audio of Providence, R.I. Specifically, has anyone expericience any problems making use of their 3 year trade in policy? Two years ago, I bought a pair of Quicksilver KT-88 amps with the promise that I could trade them in for credit towards a more expensive amplifier within a three year period. The statement on the purchase receipt is: Full 100% trade in within 3 years. The Quicksilver's are OK amps but its time to move on so I called Ocean State to make an appointment. During the conversation, I was told that in order to make use of the trade in policy, I must purchase an amp that is TWICE as expensive as the original amp. In addition, they say they are no longer offering this policy to new customers because it costs them too much money. It seems as if they are trying to slither out of a practice that cost them too much. Anybody else have a similar experience and how was it resolved? Also, any recomendations for a $2000 - $3000 amp that sounds good with Quad ESL-63's AND is reliable? -- Peter Faill GCA Corporation Andover, MA faill@gca.com
