The JAPAN ECONOMIC JOURNAL, September 10, 1990 reports that
MITI is organizing a consortium, "Study Commission for the
Development of Virtual Reality and Tele-Existence."
 
MITI's Agency of Industrial Science and Technology will take
the initiative in doing government-industry-university
coordination for the research projects undertaken.
 
Participants on the Study Commission are:

The first meeting of the Study Commission will take place
on October 10, 1990.
