I (your moderator) will be in San Francisco for the next several days to attend the Cyberthon, the 24-hour extravaganza of virtual displays and expert panels put on by the Whole Earth Institute at the studios of (Colossal) Pictures. It's quite a shindig, at least on paper. If the real thing is as good as the virtual promotion, I'll bring back reflections on this unique event. Others attending should also feel free to post their observations and reactions here. Because we haven't had time to designate a backup moderator yet, sci.virtual-worlds will go temporarily untended from Oct. 4-9... but on my return I will immediately post your messages sent during the interim, as well as the new materials.
