TITLE: Visualization in Virtual Space
SPEAKER: Tom Furness, Department of Industrial Engineering, UW.

PLACE: Thomson 101, University of Washington (Seattle)
ABSTRACT:
Virtual interface technology provides a new approach for coupling
computer-generated information to the human senses. Since these
devices can produce a circumambience of visual and auditory
information, it is possible to create virtual worlds which are
"inhabited" by the participant and "experienced" intuitively using the
natural three-dimensional architecture of the human body. These
factors empower the virtual interface with an unprecedented efficiency
in communicating computer-generated graphical information, making it
ideal for visualization of complex data spaces.
