We have a box that gets the time from a satellite. The fine print in the documenation mentions that it will fade out for a few minutes each midnight during a week or two each spring and fall. The problem is that the satellite is solar powered, and that's when it's in the Earth's shadow.

Of course don't forget the converse problem, when the antenna points at the
sun. The sun makes lots of noise and that is bound to interfere with the
signal a bit!!
