[sci.virtual-worlds] Polhemus, Bird accuracy

holloway@cs.unc.edu (Richard Holloway) (01/08/91)

Is anyone aware of any documented, careful study of Polhemus 3SPACE and/or
Ascension Bird accuracy for position and orientation?

Our Polhemus manual claims static accuracy of 0.1 inch RMS and 0.5 degree
RMS and resolution of 0.03" and 0.1 degree, but I'd like to know whether
anyone has checked these numbers in their lab.

Also, has anyone ever measured the lag for either of these systems? If so,
how?

Thanks; I'll summarize if I get anything on this.
