[sci.virtual-worlds] VR LANDMARK!

frerichs@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu (David J Frerichs) (01/26/91)

The VR world has just reached another milestone...

15 minutes ago, I jacked in to the world's first stand-alone, portable
VR system. This system, in development for the last year, was created by
Matt Klapman and David Stark, both based in the Chicago area.

In a simple summary, it was IMPRESSIVE! I wish I could tell you more,
but one of the preconditions to using it was not to disclose any revealing
information about it. Look for more information about it coming out in
a couple of months. The most important aspect of this system is that it
will be priced in the consumer price range, way below any system available
currently.

Consumer VR is on its way, and all of us will be able to afford it...
You heard it here first.
