{This message is for Greg Newby, of the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University. Sorry to waste 'bandwidth', but my mail to him keeps on bouncing, and others might be interested in the info I'm requesting as well.} [It's of general interest, too. -- Bob Jacobson] Greetings and salutations, Mr. Newby. I read your message on sci.virtual-worlds of 5 Mar 91, and was both surprised and amazed that you had managed to aquire a PowerGlove serial interface box. The virtual reality development team I belong to (just a bunch of undergrads hacking around) has been trying for months to get one of these little babies with almost no sucess. After racking up some heavy phone bills talking to AGE and VPL, we gave up. So how did you do it? I'd really like to hear from you [among others, most probably]. Even though the term is almost over, we'd still like to do some further development on our project. [BTW, we currently have the PowerGlove running in low res mode, connected to a '486. We are using a pair of Sega LC glasses for a crudimentary 3d vision system.] Thanks in advance, Barry Ferg barry_ferg@mtsg.ubc.ca (or try replying to the id in the header. or both)
