[sci.virtual-worlds] The Moderator thanks you for the excellent quality of posts.

cyberoid@milton.u.washington.edu (Robert Jacobson) (04/04/91)

I want to offer my congratulations to the newsgroup participants
for the outstanding quality of the posts that have been appearing here
of late. Whatever positions you have taken, it can be asserted without
fear of contradiction that the posts are provocative and well-reasoned.
Thank you!

Also, thanks to the many participants who have responded to the Roll
Call. I should remind those of you who want to make contact with others
in similar fields, of similar interests, or inhabiting local regions
that the easiest way to do this is to post to the public board. However,
if I have the time, I will be glad to do a search for those whose
interests are SHARPLY defined or whose locale is smaller than a few
hundred square miles/meters. To do this, I ask the others whom I
believe to be in your community of interest to contact you. That way
confidentiality is maintained.

One small point: when preparing either original material or including
an earlier post in your message, please adhere to a character-per-line
limit of around 70 characters. More than that and you violate margins,
which necessitates all sorts of editing on my part. Also, if you cannot
use rn or nn to mail to the newsgroup, you can and should send your
mail to hlab@milton.u.washington.edu, not cyberoid@milton.u.washington.edu
That saves me a step.

FINALLY...I will be heading to Europe on Saturday, for two weeks overseas
and a presentation at the Siemens/Munich IN CYBERSPACE event (11-13 April),
on which I will report fully on my return. In my absence, Mark De Loura
(madsax@milton.u.washington.edu), my co-mod, will be handling the pleasant
chores. Please send mail to him if it has to do with sci.virtual-worlds
(roll calls, queries, postings, etc.). If you have HIT Lab issues, please
send them to me and I will answer them as soon as possible.

Thank you again for all of your good wishes, well-taken criticisms, and
general enthusiasm and positive vibrations. You are wonderful people to
serve. May the Network be With You.
