sites. Apologies if this is a repost at your site. ]

This posting is both an introduction and a request for information.

My name is Rich Holloway, and I'm a PhD student at the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill. I'm working on the "X-Ray Vision" application,
in which I hope to use a see-through head-mounted display to give
cranio-facial surgeons a better tool for doing reconstructive surgery
planning. In addition, I'm planning to do some studies on how effectively
virtual objects can be superimposed on real objects.

This latter item leads to the request for information: has anyone done such
studies before? I am interested in any study in which a computer image is
superimposed on a real-world object. This includes cases where the object
is superimposed in front of, inside, beside, or behind the real object.

I am particularly interested in the psychological aspects of this.

Thanks for any help; if there is interest, I can summarize any results.
