PRESENCE is about teleoperators and virtual environments (alter- nately called artificial environments, artificial realities, or virtual realities), with special emphasis on the human-machine interface in such systems. The journal will interest mechanical and electrical engineers concerned primarily with teleoperators; computer scientists, high-tech artists, and media people concerned primarily with virtual reality; and psychologists concerned pri- marily with human-machine interfaces and with sensorimotor and cognitive behavior. First issue: Fall 1991 (hopefully, though could be more like January 1992) One-year subscription $50/indioviduals, $120/institutions, out- side U.S. add $14 additional for postage and handling. If you have questions, give Lucia, editorial assistant, a call at (617) 253-2866. Thanks again for your help and your support of PRESENCE. Best wishes, Janet Fisher, Journals Manager, MIT Press
