The unedited, professionally shot, master videotapes of the U.S.
Senate hearing on virtual reality have been released to me. If there
is sufficient interest (10 or more folks want this) I will make
available a two-hour videotape which includes:
Sen. Gore on federal government interest in VR technology
and its development in the U.S. (+ concerns about Japan VR)
Presentation by Jaron Lanier, VPL (incl. video of latest system).
Presentation by Dr. Fred Brooks, UNC (incl. slides and video)
Presentation by Dr. Tom Furness, Univ. of Wash. (slides)
Question and answer session between senators and presentors.
Paper supplements to be included:
Transcript of hearing.
Submitted papers from panelists (if there are no objections
from the authors).
I will post a detailed synopsis of the tape in the next few days.

Good news. There is considerable interest in the Senate VR hearing
videotape. Thanks to all who responded. We will make the tape
available...here's the process:
Send $30 plus $5 for shipping, etc., to the
address listed below (payable to Virtual
Reality Film Doc.)
On July 12 we will make video dubs and transcript
copies, etc., for all paid orders.
July 15 we mail everything out, first class
