[news.software.nn] NN patch server by mail

nn-arc@stiatl.UUCP (NN Archives) (02/07/90)

Welcome to the USA East Coast NN Archive. This system is maintained
by Paul Anderson (emory!stiatl.UUCP!pda or pda@SalesTech.Com).
If you have repeated problems with the archive, contact me at that address
or at (404) 841-4000. I will pull up the log of your request and try to
help you out. I am usually in from noon to 6 pm US Eastern Standard
Time (17:00 to 21:00 GMT/CUT).

This is the general help message. It is being sent to you because
you requested help or improperly formatted a message.

The NN archive sources were provided directly by Kim Storm.
(storm@texas.dk).

The NN Archive server is an automatic server, so it may be a
little cumbersome at times. In particular, sometimes the mailer
here is unable to 'R'eply to your message: my mailer tends to be
a little brain-dead. If you do not get your request back from
the archive within 24 hours, the request was lost in transit
somewhere. If this occurs, you can provide an explicit path to
be used to route the request back to you. Put the following line
in the body of your message, beginning at column 0:

Send-To: path-from-me-to-you

ie:

Send-To: emory!texas.dk!storm

This explicit path will then be used for your request. Note that the
path *must* begin with emory, since this is the major node we connect
to.

Please be careful about requesting the entire set of patches, as
it now exceeds the size of the compressed source! Please distribute
patches to your neighbors! Thanks.

Requesting Archives
-------------------
The way to request information from the archive is via the
Subject: field of mail. All message text is ignored. If you wish
to register a message with the archive, then specify the Subject:
as 'gripe' or 'suggest'.

Following are legal values to which you can set the Subject: field.

Subject: dir -sends a directory of what is available
Subject: directory

Subject: help -this message

Subject: send summary	-sends the summary of changes
Subject: send xxx	-sends the archive 'xxx'

Subject: gripe -registers a gripe.
Subject: suggest

Multiple requests on the command line are supported:

Subject: send nn6.3-p-3 nn6.3-p-4 summary help

                | since there have been enough requests for it. It is
                | uncooked. Please do not expect a lot from it- either in terms
