Why I switched from using rn to nn: Our set up was reading news via nntp from another machine, using rrn. The first reason I switched was simply that KILL files in rrn took so long, and my KILL files were very big. Once switching, I found that in general nn allows me to read news much quicker than I ever could with rn.
