(QUEBEC CITY) Quebec Premier Robert Bourassa is playing down claims by his Environment Minister that his under-staffed department can no longer protect the health and safety of the public. Bourassa says the comments were made in the context of the P-C-B fire in St-Basile-le-Grand and the lead pollution scare in St-Jean. Bourassa says Paradis is trying to obtain an increase in the budget for the Ministry of the Environment, as promised during the election campaign. Kelly/Standard Broadcast Wire
