fired five goals against Detroit Red Wings. That set a record for
scoring by a defenceman.
	In 1955, New Brunswick recorded its coldest day...minus

	In 1953, vitamin-enriched white bread went on sale for the first
time.
	In 1848, J-B Uniacke formed the first Liberal government in Nova
Scotia.

	On this date in 1988...U-S President Reagan lobbied for
36-Million-dollars in aid for the Contras. The House of Representatives
voted later to reject the aid bill.
