(BEAVERTON, Ont.) An Ajax man, who disappeared on the ice at Lake
Simcoe last night has been found.
Forty-three-year-old Terance Carlton and a friend were heading
ashore after a day of ice-fishing. But they had to stop their truck
about one-thousand feet short of land, because of open water.
The friend got out and walked the rest of the way, but Carlton
turned the truck around to try to find another route. No one heard from
him all night. He got lost in the dark and was stuck in the snow by the
shores of Lagoon City.
He walked back to Beaverton and spent the night in a hotel. In the
morning when police were getting ready to search for him with a
helicopter and snowmobile, they turned around to see Carlton hiking up
the road towards them ... wondering what all the fuss was about.
