(OSHAWA) After a three-week investigation, Durham Regional Police
have cracked a shoplifting ring in Oshawa.
Police say over the past several months, anywhere between 20 to 30
youths were recruited to steal merchandise from stores in the Oshawa
Centre. The gang seems to have been run by two men...33-year-old Riyas
Nurani of Rexdale and 19-year-old Aaron Szimanski of Oshawa. Two young
offenders were also arrested.
Police say the youths were given lists of things to steal, and the
stolen articles were then turned over to people who were working at a
store in the mall (T-Shirt Gallery).
All four were charged with theft under one-thousand dollars,
possession of stolen property and conspiracy to commit theft.
