	NEW YORK (UPI) -- Milton Safenowitz, co-founder and executive vice
president of Getty Petroleum Corp., has retired after 35 years in the
oil business, the company announced Friday.
	Safenowitz, 62, will continue to serve on Getty's board of
directors and as a consultant to the independent seller of gasoline and
other petroleum products in the 13-state region extending from Maine to
Virginia, the statement said.
