NEW YORK, NEW YORK, U.S.A., 1990 JAN 12 (NB) -- NYNEX
Enterprises has created a new third-party logistics group designed to
strengthen the company's external business focus and develop new
markets beyond the NYNEX family of companies.
Joseph Timpanaro has been named vice president and general manager
of the new group. He previously had been vice president-business
development for NYNEX Enterprises. The new group is located at
NYNEX Enterprises' Manhattan headquarters, 441 Ninth Ave.
As a third-party logistics provider, NYNEX Enterprises will offer
materials management, including contract warehousing, inventory control,
transportation, purchasing and procurement, customer service and
computer systems.
In other news from NYNEX, NYNEX's Information Services Group has
acquired LeRoux, Pitts and Associates (LPA), which specializes in
point-of-sale application software systems for banking, retail and
government customers using Tandem computers.
Florida-based LPA is already working on major systems integration
projects awarded to NYNEX last year. NYNEX won a $33.5 million
contract with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for a
parking revenue control system at the three metropolitan
airports, and is installing a similar system at the Dallas-Fort
Worth International Airport. The company has 40 employees and a
customer base including four of the top 10 electronic funds transfer
(EFT) transaction banks in the nation.
