NORTH ANDOVER, MASSACHUSETTS, U.S.A., 1990 JAN 12 (NB) -- Software Services of America (SS) announced a net loss of $621,145 for its second quarter, ending November 30, 1989, compared with a $94,068 net profit for the same period in 1988. The loss follows the company's considerable outlay of resources to implement IBM's new consumer transaction (CT) product in a total branch automation system. Since no other company is using the CT product in such a manner, SS may eventually benefit greatly from IBM's marketing strategy, although such benefits won't be realized for some time.
