newsbytes@clarinet.com (01/18/90)

CENTRAL, HONGKONG, 1990, JAN 14 (NB) -- Leading Hongkong trading
group Li & Fung Trading Company has opted for a new accounting
software package called the Coda Integrated Accounting System from
Australasia Computing Services (HK) Ltd.

The deal covers software development, system implementation and system
management services at a cost of more than $64,000.

The software will be installed on nine IBM AS/400 minicomputers and
will permit integration across different systems. It will allow
resource sharing through Li & Fung's extensive personal computer
network.

Li & Fung chose the package for its ability to provide management
control and efficient accounting in a business covering multinational
trade and multiple companies.

The system's ability to process in many currencies was a leading factor
in the selection, together with a high standard of management
reporting and the capability to consolidate the group's accounting
activities.

Coda-IAS is said to cope with a wide range of currency variables and
enable users to immediately calculate precise trade positions on a
transactional basis.
