VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA, 1990 JAN 31 (NB) -- Consumers Software plans to show its Network Courier electronic mail software running under Microsoft Windows and OS/2 and on the Apple Macintosh at the Networld show in Boston Feb. 13-15. The OS/2 version of Network Courier will be released at the show at will start shipping before the end of February, Consumers spokesman Michael Shandrick told Newsbytes. The Macintosh and Windows versions are in beta testing and should be shipping in April, Shandrick added. The software allows people using any of the operating systems supported to communicate with any other user over a variety of communications links, Shandrick said. Users will also be able to send mail through Network Courier gateways to other electronic mail systems such as Professional Office System (PROFS) on an IBM mainframe. The software for OS/2, Macintosh and Windows will cost about US$595, Shandrick said. The OS/2 version does not support Presentation Manager at present, he added, but PM support is planned.
