I brought up PMDF 3.1 this morning and send/received Internet mail just fine. Bitnet mail to adjacent nodes went out fine. When I addressed something to in%"user@ukacrl.bitnet" it was bounced with unknown host/domain. One of my last acts before trying it out was to copy jan_sys:lmd.com to pmdf_root:[exe], but that was after the boot. Was this a problem? Incidently - mail addressed jnet%"user@ukacrl.bitnet" went out fine. Thanks for any help you can provide!

It sounds to me like you did not run JNET_PMDF.COM to build DOMAIN.DAT containing all your BITNET systems. Failing that, did you copy over DOMAIN.DAT from your old PMDF_ROOT:[TABLE] to the new one? The fact that outgoing mail to adjacent BITNET nodes (which are specified in PMDF.CNF) works means that there's no problem with the PMDF-JNET interface. This is configuration problem. You also said you copied JAN_SYS:LMD.COM to PMDF_ROOT:[EXE]. That's backwards; you copy the file in the other direction and restart the JNET server for your local system (so BN_SLAVE gets run). You probably just said it backwards, but it was worth mentioning... Hope this helps. Ned
