Hi, I'm just installing and starting to try to use PMDF. So far
it is sort-of working. The FTCP-DAEMON portion seems to be working
just fine. I am having some problems with the local channel not
being used.

I'm trying to set it up so that we are doing the following:

mail for the local cluster (4 nodes) uses the local channel,
nodes in .DNET.SEMI.HARRIS-ATD.COM use the decnet-mail channel,
nodes in the rest of .SEMI.HARRIS-ATD.COM use the FTCP-DAEMON channel,
nodes in .GE.COM use the GE phonenet channel,
nodes in the rest of the world use FTCP-DAEMON channel.

Every attempt to send something to

user@rtpark.rtp.semi.harris-atd.com

winds up going to the FTCP-DAEMON instead of the local channel.

I'm enclosing a copy of the PMDF.CNF file for your perusal. I would
appreciate anyone responding with an explanation of what would clear
this up for me.

Heres the PMDF.CNF file:

Boy, this is a complex configuration! I'm very impressed.

First of all, the general idea is that anything ending in .HARRIS.COM
can be converted into .HARRIS-ATD.COM, right? This is a perfect application
for a A%B rewrite; it will make the change and continue the rewrite process.

Similarly, you want to let people leave the .SEMI part out of your addresses,
right? So another pair of A%B rewrites will take addresses without the
.SEMI clause into addresses with the clause inserted, and continue the
rewrite.

All the nodes on your local cluster should simply rewrite to the
official hostname on the local channel.

The rest is a straightforward implementation of the actions you specify.

I ended up with the following configuration. I'm by no means sure it is
exactly what you want, but I hope it helps.
