John:

Thanks for this information. This is one case I've managed to go
totally unaware of.

Ed:

Thanks for the elaboration. The name may have been mentioned here
before, but I've forgotten it if it was. Who was/is the SysOp of Stock
Exchange BBS?

..I hope if there's anything postable it will find its way to this
conference. While COSUARD was founded for one issue, it wants to get
nationwide in scope, and other issues are, I think, of interest here.

JO> Dealing with Teleconnect has reminded me of an axiom from my farm
JO> background. "Stomping mice in a barrel is REAL tough. You can't
JO> never get'em in a corner"!!

..Thanks for a most informative post from yet another state. I hope
many read it and understand the scope of the tribulation extends to long
distance as well as local companies; that every state has cases, and
that every state's "regulators" do not have that much of a handle on the
parties they are charged to regulate. They don't need to be a big Bell
company to display that sort of "take it or leave it" arrogance we only
partially are beginning to understand from the "Big guys."
..Truth be known, most of them learned at Ma Bell's knee, and that's
where it comes from. Another is that the volume of lawsuits against
Telcos is unknown and probably underestimated. They have a
great proclivity when you have a REAL case for offering fast cash in
exchange for a sealed record.
..As the public does begin to get "telecommunications-smart," we are
hearing more and more of a new one from them that we call the "STP
excuse." It reads, "Sorry, That's Proprietary." ...A most peculiar
response from an organization and industry that holds itself forth as
openly regulated stewards of a public trust, it seems to me!
