	CALGARY, Alberta (UPI) -- Rookie Paul Ranheim scored his 11th goal
of the season at 9:14 of the final period to cap a four-goal Calgary
rally Thursday night that lifted the Flames to a 5-3 triumph over
Buffalo, the Sabres' sixth loss in a row.
	The Flames, who entered the final period trailing 3-1, took a 4-3
lead when Ranheim drilled a 25-foot slapshot through goalie Daren
Puppa's legs.
	Defenseman Al MacInnis tied the score 3-3 at 6:30 when he drilled a
40-foot slapshot through traffic for his 16th goal of the season.
	The Flames pulled within a goal when Gary Roberts deked Puppa for
his 24th goal of the season 64 seconds into period to cut the margin to
3-2 after taking Doug Gilmour's pass from the corner.
	Tim Hunter scored his first goal of the season at 13:24 of the
final period to complete the four-goal barrage on Puppa.
	The Sabres took a 2-0 opening period lead on a pair of power-play
goals by Dave Andreychuk before the midway mark of the period.
	Andreychuk scored his 21st of the season at 4:57 when fired Phil
Housley's rebound by Flames' goalie Mike Vernon.
	Andreychuk scored his second goal of the game and 22nd of the
season just under five minutes later when slapped Alexander Mogilny's
goalmouth pass into the net at 9:52.
	Buffalo maintained their two-goal margin in the middle period.
	The clubs split a pair of goals 38 seconds apart late in the middle
period which saw the Flames outshoot the Sabres 16-5.
	Dave Snuggerud increased the Sabres' margin to 3-0 at 18:13 when he
fought off Dana Murzyn's check and fired the puck through Vernon's legs.
	Calgary's Joe Mullen cut the margin to 3-1 when he jammed the puck
past Puppa for his 16th goal of the season at 18:51.
