TORONTO (UPI) -- Rob Ramage scored a power-play goal at 16:25 of the third period Saturday night, lifting the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 6-5 victory over the Calgary Flames. With the faceoff in the Calgary zone, the puck came back to Ramage five feet inside the blue line, where he fired a low, hard slapshot that eluded a partially screened Rick Wamsley. Joey Mullen had pulled the Flames even 5-5 at 13:37 when he took Doug Gilmour's pass from behind the Toronto net and snapped a 10-foot shot past goaltender Allan Bester. The goal was Mullen's 686th NHL point, putting him atop the all-time scoring list for U.S.-born players. With the score tied 3-3 after two period, Gilmour scored at 3:59 of the final period to put the Flames ahead 4-3. Toronto came back to tie it on Ed Olczyk's goal at 8:18, then went up 5-4 when Al Iafrate worked his way down the left side, cut in front of the Calgary crease and backhanded a shot past Wamsley at 9:59. Gary Leeman scored the only goal of the first period to give the Maple Leafs a 1-0 lead. Positioned to the side of the Calgary net, Leeman gloved Ed Olczyk's shot has it came off the back board, dropped the puck to his stick and backhanded it between Wamsley's pads at 18:05. Jamie Macoun's unassisted goal at 3:10 of the second period brought the Flames even 1-1, but Olczyk restored the Toronto lead at 5:42. Vince Damphousse converted a Toronto power play at 12:51 to increase the Toronto advantage to 3-1 when he came out from behind the Calgary net and stuffed the puck past Wamsley. Calgary then took advantage of a 5-on-3 situation, scoring twice to tie the game 3-3. Sergei Makarov cut the Toronto lead to 3-2 at 15:27, then Mullebn tied the score just 46 seconds later.
