PROVO, Utah (UPI) -- Former European junior long jump champion Anu Kaljurand, from the Soviet republic of Estonia, has enrolled at Brigham Young University, BYU women's track Coach Craig Poole said Thursday. Kaljurand, 20, Tallinn, Estonia, will be a freshman at BYU, Poole said. She is expected to compete in her first U.S. collegiate indoor track and field meet next month. ``Anu is very talented and very coachable. If she does what she is potentially capable of doing, she'll be at the national level,'' he said. Kaljurand won the women's long jump at the 1985 European Junior Championships, he said, and placed second in the World Junior Championships in both 1986 and '88. She has a career best leap of 22 feet, 5 inches. ``We'd like to put Anu in multiple events, including the high jump,'' said Poole. ``She's the Soviet champion in the baseball throw and should be very good at the javelin and shot put. We'll have to try her out and see how she'll do at the other events.''
