WASHINGTON (UPI) -- The attorney for Sugar Ray Leonard has notified World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman that the boxer is relinquishing his WBC super middleweight title. An assistant to Mike Trainer, Leonard's attorney, said Leonard has not yet decided to retire again, but that he would allow two contenders to fight for the title he is leaving vacant. ``Ray (Leonard) and I have had a chance to discuss his future, and he has indicated to me that he has not made a final decision,'' Trainer wrote Sulaiman Wednesday. ``However, he is aware that you are under pressure by fighters in his division that want to fight for the title. Accordingly, he has authorized me to relinquish, on his behalf, said title so that you can afford two worthy fighters the opportunity to fight for his title.''
