CHARLOTTE, N.C. (UPI) -- Michael Jordan scored 45 points to help the
Chicago Bulls break a three-game losing streak Friday night with a
107-95 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
The Bulls, who shot 65 percent from the floor in the first half,
never relinquished the lead in the last three quarters and are 12-0 when
holding their opponent under 100 points.
Armon Gilliam scored 26 points and Rex Chapman 24 for the Hornets,
who lost their fourth straight game. For the first time in 20 games,
Charlotte outrebounded its opponent, 53-46, as J.R. Reid pulled down 12
and Gilliam 10.
On the last play of the first quarter, B.J. Armstrong's layup
erased Charlotte's last lead of the game.
Eight straight points by Chapman led the Hornets on a 12-3 run in
the third quarter that closed the Bulls lead to 68-67. But the Bulls,
who had lost their last three on the road, then went on a 14-4 streak
that gave them a 82-71 lead with 2:45 left in the third period.
