NEW YORK (UPI) -- Trent Tucker hit a high arching three point shot from 26 feet with one tenth of a second remaining in regulation time Monday afternoon to give the New York Knicks a 109-106 victory over the Chicago Bulls. Mark Jackson inbounded the ball to Tucker along the right sideline when his original choice, Patrick Ewing, was covered under the basket, and Tucker delivered to provide the Knicks with their third successive victory. Jackson was fouled by Chicago's Scottie Pippen with 0:01 on the clock, but it was prior to the act of shooting and the Bulls were not over the limit, so the Knicks only got to inbounds the ball. The win gave New York a 17-l record at home while the loss left Chicago 9-12 on the road and broke a modest two-game win streak. Ewing had 33 points and added 12 rebounds. Charles Oakley and Johnny Newman had 16 points each for New York, with Oakley contributing 11 rebounds. Tucker had 12 points. Michael Jordan led Chicago with 26 points, but had an off-game shooting, hitting for nine of 24 attempts. He was only three of 13 at the half. Pippen had 22 points and former Knick Bill Cartwright scored 18 and added 12 rebounds. In a game which was close all the way, Chicago led 29-28 at the end of the first quarter, and the Knicks moved ahead 65-57 at the half. Ewing had 12 points in the second quarter. New York took an 88-82 lead into the fourth quarter, and Jordan converted a free throw for a three-point play with 3:32 left to tie the game at 100-100. There were three additional ties as Newman, Oakley and Ewing scored for New York and Horace Grant, Pippen and Jordan countered for Chicago. Ewing's rebound with 1:08 remaining produced the final 106-106 deadlock. In the final minute Jordan committed a turnover when he dribbled the ball off his foot and it bounced out of bounds with 0:47 remaining. With:04.6 left Jordan missed a jumper and Oakley rebounded for New York. The Knicks called time, and with just an instant remaining on the clock Pippen fouled Jackson.
