MINNEAPOLIS (UPI) -- Pooh Richardson sparked a third quarter surge with his passing and Tony Campbell scored 20 points to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves past Seattle 110-82 Wednesday night. Richardson, in only his eighth start, dished out five assists as the Timberwolves scored 21 unanswered points in the second half. The team's second win in a row also marked the second straight start for Richardson, who scored 14 points and made 12 assists during the game. The win was the team's ninth of the season against 33 losses. Tyrone Corbin added 18 points and Tod Murphy 14 as the Timberwolves led by as many as 35 points, 86-51, in the fourth quarter. The expansion team scored a franchise record 39 points in the third quarter and held Seattle to 13. Campbell started the winning run for the Timberwolves with an 18-footer off a pass from Richardson. Donald Royal ended the streak with a slam dunk in the fourth quarter. Derrick McKey totaled 16 points for Seattle, which has lost six of seven. The game marked the first time the Sonics played this season without guard Sedale Threatt, who suffered a broken hand on Saturday against San Antonio. He is expected to miss four to six weeks. Minnesota scored the first three baskets of the second half, including a pair of long jump shots by Corbin, to go on top 51-38. The Timberwolves jumped out to an early 12-point lead, 30-18, in the second quarter. The run was sparked by three straight baskets by Corbin, who shot 1-for-15 in Minnesota's previous two games.
