OAKLAND, Calif. (UPI) -- Guard Mitch Richmond scored 28 points and rookie Tim Hardaway added a season-best 27 while the Golden State Warriors established a Bay Area record free throw effort in a 135-130 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday night. The victory was the Warriors 13th in a row on their home court. The loss broke a Portland 7-game winning streak and dropped the Blazers to 31-12, one-half game behind the Pacific Division-leading Los Angeles Lakers, who were idle Wednesday. The Warriors, 20-22, made 49 of 52 free throws, breaking their previous Bay Area best by two. The franchise record is 52, set when the club was in Philadelphia. The Warriors' 31 free throws in the second half tied the franchise record. Hardaway tallied 11 points in the first half, when Golden State trailed as much as 66-53, and wound up making 12 of 17 shots, grabbing 8 rebounds and making 10 assists. Richmond, suffering through an awful field goal shooting night with 6 of 16, made 16 of 16 free throws and has 28 of 28 in his last two games. Forward Terry Teagle added 27 for Golden State while Portland's Clyde Drexler led all scorers with 38. The score was tied 96-96 after three quarters, but Golden State grabbed a 7-point lead 107-100 with 9 minutes remaining. Portland cut it to 123-122 with 3 minutes left in the game, but a pair of Richmond free throws, a Chris Mullin layup and a Hardaway jumper sealed it for Golden State.
