SEATTLE (UPI) -- The Seattle SuperSonics have signed seven-year veteran guard Quintin Dailey to a 10-day contract to replace the injured Sedale Threatt, Sonics president Bob Whitsitt announced Friday. Dailey was expected to suit up for Friday night's game in Indianapolis against the Indiana Pacers. Threatt, who was placed on the injured list Thursday, is expected to miss four to six weeks with a broken hand suffered last Saturday against San Antonio. The Sonics Thursday signed guard Jim Farmer to a 10-day contract to fill the roster spot vacated by Dale Ellis, who has been on the injured list since Jan. 16 and is expected to miss another six weeks. Dailey has been playing recently with Sioux Falls of the CBA, where he averaged 15.3 points per game in 24 games. Last season, he played with the Los Angeles Clippers and averaged 16.1 points. The former University of San Francisco standout was originally a first-round draft pick of the Chicago Bulls in 1982, when Dailey was the seventh pick overall in the draft. He played four seasons before moving to the Clippers. ``Quintin is a veteran who, in the pact, has played very well at the position at which we need help,'' Whitsitt said. ``He's a player who can provide instant offense, and it's no secret with Dale Ellis and Sedale Threatt out that we need someone who can put the ball in the basket.''
