	INGLEWOOD, Calif. (UPI) -- Byron Scott scored 20 points and Magic
Johnson added 19 points and 13 assists Friday night, helping the Los
Angeles Lakers snap a two-game losing streak with a 112-106 victory over
the Atlanta Hawks.
	Dominique Wilkins scored 36 points and Spud Webb added 19 points
and 11 assists for the Hawks, who have lost four straight.
	Webb made a free throw to bring Atlanta to within 105-102 with 2:09
to play. But the Lakers' James Worthy, who had only 10 points, stole
John Long's pass and raced to an uncontested layup, and Mychal Thompson
added two free throws with 70 seconds left to ice the victory.
	Sedric Toney's three-pointer had given the Hawks their largest lead
at 33-28 with 7:58 left in the second period. But Los Angeles outscored
the Hawks 16-6 over the next five minutes, with Johnson concluding the
burst with his first basket of the night.
	Johnson, who finished a rebound shy of a triple-double, then scored
9 more points in the final three minutes of the quarter to carry Los
Angeles to a 55-51 halftime lead.
	Thompson, who led the Lakers with 11 points in the third quarter,
hit a hook with 3:12 left in the period to give Los Angeles its biggest
lead to that point at 79-69.
	Wilkins' 6 straight free throws pulled the Hawks to within 105-101
with 3:24 to play. Johnson then missed a short hook, and the next time
downcourt missed a layup.
