LANDOVER, Md. (UPI) -- Derrick McKey sank a 17-foot jump shot at the buzzer Saturday night, propelling Seattle over the Washington Bullets, 94-92, for the SuperSonics first victory in two years at the Capital Centre. Following two timeouts, Nate McMillan inbounded the ball to McKey, who drove to the right and sank the shot with Mark Alarie's hand in his face. McKey, who made only five of 16 shots from the field, finished with 17 points and seven rebounds. After McKey's basket, the Bullets had a chance to win the game, but Ledell Eackles drove the lane and made a bad pass to Mark Alarie that went out of bounds with 4.2 seconds remaining. Xavier McDaniel had 29 points and eight rebounds for Seattle, which has won two straight road games after losing 12 in a row. The SuperSonics are 4-17 on the road this season. The SuperSonics' last win on the Bullets home court was a 115-99 decision on Dec. 5, 1987. Bernard King scored 25 points and Jeff Malone, coming off a season-high 40 points Friday night against Sacramento, scored 18 for the Bullets. Alarie sank a three-pointer with 2:20 left, but Dailey counterd with a jumper to tie the game at 91-91. The game was tied again at 92-92 with 1:25 to play after Harvey Grant and McDaniel each made one of two free throws. Seattle wiped out a 54-47 deficit in the third quarter and took their first lead of the period, 71-70, when Olden Polynice put in the rebound of Shawn Kemp's missed free throw as the third period ended. The Bullets made only 17 of 43 shots (39 percent) in the first half, but led 46-45 at the intermission.
