----------------------------Original message---------------------------- At Norwich University in Vermont we have two campuses 12 miles apart. We can't afford to duplicate expensive CDROMs like PsychLIT so we use Carbon Copy to give a remote site control over the host station running the database. We see this as a temporary fix until we have LANS bridged between the campuses. It does work but it's no picnic. First of all both machines have to be running Carbon Copy so you have to plan for its use in advance. Second, we have to run it at 1200 baud so it's pretty slow. On the plus side: It was pretty easy to configure and none of us have had to resort to reading the directions so it must be pretty straightforward to use. For Norwich it's an inexpensive short term solution. But we will be relieved when we no longer have to mess with it. Paul Heller Norwich University Library Northfield, Vermont 05663 Paul@Norwch
