This problem had been mentioned previously, in the XMAILER (Crosswell Mailer) discussion list, if I remember correctly. It is a known bug in Mailer 2.04 and previous versions: if the FIRST file processed by Mailer upon startup is in BSMTP format, all files will be headerless, with just the 'RECEIVED...' line. The solution is to upgrade to MAILER 2.05 (the current version), available on PUCC's LISTSERV, as the MAILR2 PACKAGE (object code version) or the MAILR2S PACKAGE (source and object code version). Cheers, Juan

Problem: Sometimes (not often), There's one or two items in my UNREAD notebook that have no header *at all*, or only the "Received:" line. The body of the item is normally intact, and the blank line between header and body is present. This has not started recently, but I remember it from at least a year or so ago. I'm reporting it now, because I got a message from a user at another site here in the Netherlands reporting the same problem with a note I sent him. And in the past year we've updated MAIL/BOOK at least twice, which makes me suspect it's not really a problem with MAIL/BOOK itself. The Crosswell MAILER has also gone through 2 updates in that same timespan. I can't tie disappearing headers to system problems either (like system abends or such). Does anyone have *any* hints / advice / tips / equiv. problems / solutions? Regards. Scott/
