VMSP@NCSUVM.BITNET (Mike Whitt) (01/12/90)
How do you configure an SNALINK host so that the Internet can find it?
We're installing a new MVS system here, that will be NCP attached to our
VM system. We don't have a box (e.g.8232) to attach MVS to ethernet, yet.
NCSUVM ---- 3725 ---- NCSUMVS
|
8232
From the Installation Manual, it looks like I should have, on the VM side:
HOME
128.109.153.7 eth1 /* ncsuvm.ncsu.edu = 128.109.153.7 */
128.109.153.7 snaiucv1 /* ncsumvs.ncsu.edu = 128.109.153.8 */
GATEWAY
128.109 = eth1 1500 0.0.255.0 0
128.109.153 = snaiucv1 1500 0.0.0.255 8
DEFAULTNET 128.109.193.3 ETH1 DEFAULTSIZE 0
How do the 8232 and VM Tcp/Ip know to route other Internet hosts requests
for 128.109.153.8 to NCSUMVS?
Thanks. -Mike.
