Matt Korn suggested that my SMTP RESTRICT statement be for MAILER@UCBCMSA instead of MAILER@cmsa. This sounded good and I've put it in. However, it appears to be unnecessary (and I can't easily test it) because we also put a SPECIAL statement in our Mailer to restrict mail to SMTPSERV. The latter seems to work both for incoming mail addressed to MAILER and for CMSA-originated mail addressed to SMTPSERV. So, with redundant fixes in place, I guess we no longer have this problem. Thanks to all those whose suggestions in various forms did, in fact, lead to a solution.
