A site is not able to have incoming line mode Telnet sessions to VM. TN3270 works fine. Outgoing line mode Telnet sessions from VM works fine. Just incoming line mode doesn't work. The system is HPO 5.0 SLU 515. Are there any CP PTFs that are needed that I might be missing? Thanks, Hank

This problem sounds similar the one we are experiencing on our VM/HPO 5 system. We recently upgraded our VM/HPO 5 from 8807 to 8904. As a result of this upgrade our TCP/IP (1.2.1) would hang each time a user of a non-IBM host tried to telnet to HARVARDA. For the moment, I have the "IUCV *CCS PRIORITY MSGLIMIT 255" line commented out in my directory entry to prevent line-mode telnet from getting through and am waiting to test the suggestions provided by the folks on this list. Brian Holmes<WAYNEST1> suggested the "CP ENABLE SNA TCPIP". This improved my situation but did not solve the problem. The improvement was that the "Telnet Server: Global connection ..." and "Telnet Server: First Line ..." lines returned to my log. Helmut Mustal<AWIIEZ11> suggested PTF A38254DK to DMKCFM of the CP-Nucleus. I include his suggested PTF below. Also check his Friday(1/26/90) reply to this list.
