hi, Users that connect via TCP, but dont use tn3270 must emulate a 3767(twx?) device. We were needing these 'line mode' users to dial vtam. For full screen users we genned some local 3277 devices, and defined them to VTAM with an LBUILD major node. We guess that the dmkrio needs to be genned with a 270x type device. But what does VTAM need? Has anyone on the list implemented line-mode-dial-vtam? Thanks in advance Steve Strickland

DMKDIA does not allow SNA devices that are not of the graphic device class (CLASGRAF) to dial. A line-mode TCPIP connection results in an RDEV created by SNA CCS which is of the terminal device class (CLASTERM), device type telegraph (TYPTELE2), which DMKDIA will not permit to dial (DMKDIA743A DIAL function not available). --Shane Davis Univ. of Texas at Dallas Academic Computer Ctr.
