Jim Martin reminded me after my last posting that Giffer only runs on a Mac II and asks if there is a GIF viewer that works on a Mac SE. There is a demo version of a GIF viewer for Mac Plus and SE's called GIFConverter in the ftp archives at sumex-aim.stanford.edu. It is in the info-mac/gif directory and its named gif-converter.hqx. The demo lets you view a GIF file and play with the dithering patterns, etc., but it puts a Demo message across the picture when it displays it. Ordering information for the real version can be found with the demo, if I remember correctly it is not very expensive. Now to tie this in with my last message and the Amiga, I don't believe this program will aid in transfering PICT format files to the Amiga because all I think it will allow you to do is view GIF files, not convert other formats to GIF. I could be wrong, it has been a while since I looked at the program. Marvin Landis mcsmal@nmsuvm1
